A business is an organization able to fulfill particular requests while coping with unpredictable circumstances. Businesses can survive only as long as it can fulfill the commitments for which, in turn, it receives the resources to survive (Flores, 1982). Business owners make commitments to restore the transparency of someone who has resources to give in exchange for the restoration. These resources that the entrepreneurs receive in exchange allow the survival of their businesses. Commitments are the flip side of breakdowns. Commitments emerge in order to restore the transparency of someone. Behind any business opportunity has to be a breakdown. Something is missing or obtrudes the desired relationship of someone with the world. Commitments, survival, breakdowns, and transparency are useful distinctions to give to students an understanding about how to create and make grow businesses.
